Filipinos, pls answer this question: is it ok when a young guy wears speedos swimming trunks in publc pools?

i know board shorts is the in swimwear for men here in the phil. but i relly prefer speedos swimming trunks (bikini type) cos it feels light and natural when i go swimming. but im worried about these possiblle perceptions: do filipinos think that speedos swimming trunks are for people who want to sedduce others? or do filipinos think wearing those speedo swimmg trunks are gay/bi? Or do filipinos get offended when they see a person wearing trunks bcos it seems that he's just wearing his briefs? i mean, im nt sure if i offend others' senses.. but im young (20yrs old), have a body of a model, tall, smooth and light skin, and im proud of it. i just dnt want to look like a perv or apper impolite. im chinese-filipino btw.

I guess when swimming in a pool, be it public or private, swimming trunks such as speedo, addidas, or nike or whatever brand it may should the official or required outfit to wear. Board shorts can only be use in beaches. Swimming Pool administrator or owner's should impose such strict compliance.

Reply:Here is your problem. You are in the Phillipines. No matter what you do, the whole neighborhood, your uncles, your aunts, the cousins you don't know, all of these bit-ches, will have something to say about you no matter what you wear.





We love to talk sh-it. And we do it openly and to your face. If you have a great body and you don't mind your Uncle Bebot giving you a hassle while drinking from a clorox bottle filled with gin, then wear the speedo. It's hot.





P.S. If you wear the speedo, you should seduce others at will.

In Hawaii, you can always tell the Americans from the Europeans. The Americans wear boardshorts (unless you are participating in a Triathlon), whereas the Europeans wear Speedos.
Reply:i suggest you don't do that in a public pools.Filipino are "conservative" and you will just make everybody uncomfortable. Go to Boracay if you want to wear your speedo.

The only bad thing is if your are wearing a ladies swimsuit.

Reply:I've never been to public pools before but I think it's not bad to wear your trunks instead of board shorts. I mean it's a free country and you can wear whatever you want and people won't mind you. And if you have the body and the looks, why not flaunt it? People will definitely stare at you, not because of your trunks, but because (you said you looked good) and those "good looking people" rarely or never go to public pools.





Why not go to private pools and beaches (boracay, puerto galera, etc.) instead?

Reply:Personally I think speedos in general are gross, but it depends on what you want to do. If you're going to the pool because you want to swim, then wear the speedos since you like them and you're comfortable with them. If you're going to impress girls or hook up with someone, wear trunks. They don't have to be bulky and heavy. You can wear smaller, closer fitting ones.
