Bad skin condition?

i have had acne since i was 14, i used proactive, 3 different strengths retin a, tetracycline, minocycliene, 5% benzoyl peroxide white gel sepcial tea tree face wash. I dont hav it bad as i did in my younger days, but they 5% gel sufficates the skin cuz in the morning you can almost peel it off. i noticed that nothing works aw well on me as benzoyl peroxide, so i stared using clean and clear continous something, it has 10% benzoyl peroxide, when i wash my face with it, it makes my skin look horrible, it also looks like im getting more break outs. is it normal for it to get worse at first, then get better? if not i dont know what to do because i have tried every thing, i have even been to dermatoligists, nothing the recomended helped with out copletely killing my skin, it would get so try that i would look as tho i had a savere sun burn. im 18, so i have been troubled by it for about 4 years, i need help, sould i keep using the clean and clear? im going to college and want to look good.

Bad skin condition?
First advice is go for home made remedy for this problem all the chemicals in the creams or medecines work temperory HERE is remedy tried and tested blend 1tblsp crused mint with enough oats powder leave the mask on for ur face at least 20 minutes this will crue it and also apply cinnamon powder mix with honey in 1:2 proportion this will cure the chronic acene but dont forget to be regular or all in vain do this for 21-25 days and see the defference
Reply:The 5% benzoyl is very good. if the gel is not being absorbed right then you should find another solution.

I suggest, if you can, try Proactive again. ONLY use the face cleaner and the acne treatment. Do not use the toner! The cleanser and acne treatment are both low % benzoyl peroxide and work beautifully.
Reply:Try St.Ives Clear Pore face wash for oily/blemish prone skin and also go for a chemical peel. That will get worse then get better, also ask your doctor if you Can get pills that will get rid of acne. My friend did that for 6 months or something and has never got a zit since.

good luck
Reply:I had terrible skin too. I started getting facials. It can get expensive, but well worth it. If you live in Seattle, I would go to Esthetics International. Her name is Sang and she definitely give you the best advice. I have used almost every product across the board, and the best one I have used so far is Dermalogica. It has a formula specially for acne. I hope this helps and have fun in college.
Reply:How long have you been using it? Acne products may take 2-3 weeks to show result. It make make your skin look worse before looking better because it is bringing up dirt and debris to the surface of the skin to eliminate them. If it's not burning or irritating your face, I would try if for a little while longer. Have you tried Acne Free? They guarantee their product and if you don't see results within 30 day, they will give you your money back. Neutrogena products also work well and are very gentle on your skin. They even have moisturizers for acne.
Reply:The products you are using, are they Salsylic Acid or Benzoyl peroxide? BP can be VERY drying. I personally like SA better. Salsylic acid it really good. It is in almost all acne washes. Benzoyl Peroxide is too drying for me! Try finding a face lotion with SA in it. Clean and Clear has a good moisturizer with SA and it helps keep pimples at bay. It is only about $5 a bottle and lasts about 2 months and you can get it at your local store. I have used this in the past and it works well. Personally, I use Biore products (which you get over the counter. Their products range from $5-$10). They are harsh on pimples, but not on your face.

Personally, Proactive didn't work for me. I have been using Biore products for over a year and I hardly ever break out! Occasionally I will get one or two, but nothing bad. I use Biore Ice Cleanser for acne and Biore warming facial scrub every morning for blackheads (This stuff works. I notcied a DRASTIC diffrence in my blackeads being GONE within 2 weeks) . And then 3-4 day s a week I use Biore purging pore cream scrub. For body acne I use Neutrogena acne body wash I never break out on my body. It gets 110 in summer so sweat in inevitably, yet I never break out. Give it a try. All of it is cheap too. About $5-10 depending on what you buy! Salsylic acid it really good. It is in almost all acne washes. Benzoyl Peroxide is too drying for me! I think you will just need to experiment with products until you find what works for you. Remember, it can take 1 month for products to fully begin working! Good Luck!
Reply:Have you tried the avon skin products. they work good for me and dont cost much. you can browse or buy stuff at....
Reply:Rub any type of fruit on your face and let it dry. It sounds gross but it helps your skin. Good luck.
Reply:Avoid any product that contains alcohol, as this creates a viscious cycle of burning, redness and actually increases acne. Your skin needs balance and products that aren't so harsh.
Reply:i think you are allergic to benzoyl peroxide. stop using it. try something milder, like salicylic acid. I use clean and clear pimple clearing cleanser, it has a salicylic acid, and it works great on my skin. plus the pimple clearing gel, it decreases the size of the pimple and wont leave dark spots. Drink plenty of water and dont stress out too much, that will only aggravate your condition. sleep early and eat a well balanced and nutritious diet, lots of fruits and veggies too.
Reply:try alkek.com get the alpha pads and remage cleanser, but make sure you use a good sunscreen if you go in the sun, all of the acids can really burn your skin
Reply:I went through pretty much everything on the market and by prescription as well, to pretty much no avail.

I don't know if this is still out there (tons of warning labels + lots of possible nasty side effects/possible birth defects -- especially by the second time I was on it), but I ended up on a medication called accutane for a round my senior year of high school and a second one at about age 22 when that first round didn't "take" well enough. It's not at all fun to be on for the 4-6 or whatever number of months you take it (it dries out everything really bad, especially over the winter), but that's all that's *ever* done much good for me. At least I can live sort of like a "normal person" now in my mid-20's.
Reply:It may just be too much for your skin. Rather than doing you any good, it's irritating your skin. Also, have you ever considered you may have Rosacea? It's a skin condition that causes your skin to appear red and blotchy. The dermatologist can prescribe different medications and treatments for that, which in turn can help with the acne. Try this. Look it up on the internet. There's tons of materials that provide useful tips, treatments, etc. Good luck.
