Philippine history classes for young pinoys/pinays born and raised in the US?

I never realized that several of my fellowmen have lost the pride of their heritage. I do not mean that you brag to anyone you meet about being a Filipino. THAT IS ANNOYING.

I mean, know for yourself what your heritage is. Where and how your ancestors lived. Because whether you like it or not, it IS part of your make up. Your skin is not very light nor dark for a reason.

Thus, I pose a question to the parents of young Filipino children who were born and raised in the US. If there were Filipino history classes (HIGH QUALITY ONES, very engaging and hands on) offered at a reasonable price, would you enroll your child?

Philippine history classes for young pinoys/pinays born and raised in the US?
Excellent question!

If the conditions were applicable to myself, I would not only enrol my child in the class but enrol myself too. It would be a privilege to attend Filipino history classes.

It is about time that we learn our own history and culture.
Reply:I am not living in the States nor raised in States, more so have kids yet, but I would like to answer this question. I think it is important that they should learn about their own history, more importantly than American history because you're right, we are "brown" for a reason, and you can't deny the fact that we belong to asian category by ethnicity so we rather be knowledgeable of our heritage, our history, culture, tradition, language and color, otherwise we'd lose our identity. I've met some Fil-Am's who are like that, they have lost their very own identity, they are as brown as a mahogany tree but in their hearts they consider themselves "americans" just cause they were born in US (basis for citizenship) and grew up there. That's just so sad (and similarly annoying).
Reply:They don't just enroll, they stayed here during school age years. They told me they dont want their kids to be growing up in the US where they lack morals cause of the super strict child policy and too carefree and liberated. In there you cant even raise a tone on kids, nor "makakuha sa tingin". Thats provoking already. They cant discipline their kids daw sa US, afraid of going to jail. If the kids cant report the neighbors will if they saw you there.
Reply:yes i will enrolled my child for sure

even im not from usa

i have no problem with the make up or skin colour

of my son just heritage
Reply:no education can charge more money than sending them back to their roots...at least once in a while...purong pilipino po.
