Asian beauties please, help: how to have great skin?

I met asian woman in her 50th she looked amzing like she is 20, -- her hair, skin look so radiant, better than my - 20 years younger,

Any advice? I heard something about toxins

Asian beauties please, help: how to have great skin?
well she probably grew up in asia, somewhat poor where they eat asian cuisine. steamed veggies, water and rice. not the fried crap at the chinese buffets. its mainly from the fresh fruits and not a lot of acess to mcdonalds or soda.
Reply:NOPE.. we just dont damp our face with stuff and chemicals and creams and makeup..its good to go for a natural look!
Reply:I have studied esthetics with my now ex wife whom was from hong kong, She has very nice skin and I help her to keep it that way when she was here. I think if you are American in thinking you will have trouble to take my advice, BUT the sun is not your friend....white sugar is not your friend. Alcahol is not your friend. The sun does damage that cannot be repaired, nd unfrotunately it takes years for the damge to show up. But how to tell an American girl to give up the booze and the sun bathing oh and refined sugar. I think you will find most asian girls follow these rules. And for the scarring the absolute best treatment that I have used is a medicine called tretinoin cream .05% if the scars are very light, for more heavy scars use the .1% . Those are the non physical way, the other faster and more drastic way it to have microderm or laser resurfacing.
Reply:1) Avoid the sun if possible. too much sun will harm your complexion (depending especially if you are fair skinned or otherwise.

2) Eat a healthy diet (mostly vegetables, rice, soup) less oil etc. if you ever go to a chinatown look at what chinese ppl eat as opposed to what non-chinese ppl eat.

3) Give yourself (or go to a beauty shop) a facial every once in a while. And find skin care products to suit you and apply them.

4) Enjoy your life, stress will damage your skin.

Good Luck!

What Products Do You Recommend For Dry Skin?

Cleansers and moisturizers. I'm 35 years old, but my skin is in very good condition and I look younger than I am. I seldom break out, but if I don't use moisturizer it feels tight and even painful. I have very few lines and no visible pours. I like moisturizers that have minimum spf 15. Which brand(s) would you recommend?

What Products Do You Recommend For Dry Skin?
Hi M - I saved you in my Contacts a while ago because you and I are very similar in height/weight/age and now apparently, skin type. Your questions have intrigued me because they are ones I've wondered but never bothered to ask. :)

I can't stand fruity-smelling body lotions (which narrows down the field considerably) and I've tried many, many brands. These are what I find to have worked best for me:

For the body, I use Keri (anytime use), Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion (winter/dry days; absorbs without being heavy) and Amway's Body Series Hand %26amp; Body Lotion (SPF 15; summertime; awesome for hands because it's not greasy).

For the face, I've been using Amway's Artistry Moisture Rich Protective Lotion (SPF 15) but I'm still looking for a decent drugstore brand that is cheaper than Amway. I've been thinking about trying the Aveeno facial lotion, but have liked Netrogena in the past.

Hope that helps.
Reply:I would definitley reccommend Clarins products.

There's a product called "Cleansing Milk", it hydrates and replenishes your skin and makes it look so much brighter and more moisturized the next day.

Also, if you try some of Clarins moisturizers, they make your skin even more hydrated.
Reply:clean %26amp; clear, i just started using it about a week ago and my dryest spots are gonee.
Reply:Dry skin problems respond well to self-care measures, such as using moisturizers and avoiding long, hot showers and baths. If you have very dry and scaly skin, your doctor may recommend you use an over-the-counter cream that contains lactic acid or lactic acid and urea.

In a more serious skin diseases, such as ichthyosis or psoriasis, your doctor may prescribe prescription creams and ointments or other treatments in addition to home care.

Dry skin leads to dermatitis, which causes red, itchy skin. In these cases, treatment may include hydrocortisone-containing lotions. If your skin cracks open, your doctor may prescribe wet dressings with mildly astringent properties to contract your skin and reduce secretions and prevent infection.

I believe http://www.skinsosilky.com/ will help you best for more advices, ideas and best product treatments for any skin problem like dry skin.
Reply:i would recommend dry skin extra care lotion it might work.

What are the step by step make-up procedures and good techniques for a young looking or babay face?

I am just about to star applying make -up on my face and I dont have any idea what products or items do i use as basic make-up procedure. I have a very sensitive skin. and i want my face to look younger and fresh after make-up.

What are the step by step make-up procedures and good techniques for a young looking or babay face?
Perfect Pigment by Christina Sullivan - it basically does the job for you and it comes with a brush and lip gloss - I recommend it so much I should start selling the stuff!
Reply:use eyeliner, mascarra, lipgloss %26amp; face powder
Reply:The basic principle of makeup is to cover up or downplay the bits you don't want anyone to see and highlight the best parts of your face. You should also remember that less is more, so if you want to play up a certain feature of your face, then everything else should be low-key.

Invest in a good set of brushes. They are the key to making your makeup look seamlessly done, and you won't make as many mistakes if you use a brush. For starters, you should have an eyeshadow brush, a blush brush, a lash comb with an eyebrow brush behind it and a lip brush.

That being said, here's a very basic look that may just work for you.

Since your skin is sensitive, look for hypoallergenic makeup brands (I suggest L'Oreal or Clinique). I'll assume that you're in your early teens, so don't really bother with foundation and stuff. Just use a nice tinted moisturizer or for evenings, a lightweight mousse foundation (try the ones by Maybelline). Use a sponge, a brush or your clean fingers to apply your foundation. Pay attention to your neck, so you don't walk out with the "floating face" effect. Use a light hand on this, because it's easier to add on than to remove and start over.

Now for your eyes. Take an eyeshadow brush (these are cut square with soft hairs) and brush on a beige eyeshadow from the top of your lashes to your browbone. Line your eyes with brown eyeliner pencil, and smudge the line you drew with a Q-tip so the line isn't so harsh.

Using your blush brush, pick up some color and swirl the brush over the apples of your cheeks, or where your cheeks pop up when you smile. Blend outwards, so it fades near the ears. Pick a peachy or light pink shade so you look refreshed, like you just woke up from a nap.

And for your lips, strawberry lip gloss works best. Your blush should always match your lips.

Good luck!

Very oily skin?

For the last couple of weeks my skin has been posing as something out of most people's nightmares. Because i've lost the last of my tan it's now become pale and often blotchy. It's flared up with acne which hasn't troubled me in years (now 24) and produces so much oil that it's not funny anymore.

For the last few years i've been sticking to a simple routine of washing my face with a cleanser and then cold water twice a day and that's kept it clear.I eat quite healthily. And because I know that my skin is very sensative,I don't use any other products on it.

First of all,are there any suggestions as to why it's suddenly flared up again.

And secondly can you guys please suggest something to ease the acne and oil.

(Baring in mind that many common acne treatments will probably make things worse,I need something for sensative skin. And not Proactive,I tried it when I was younger and it didn't suit me or really help.)

Very oily skin?
Arbonne is the best but is expensive and hard to find. if you cant get arbonne try getting some asprin and crush it up untill it is like podwer. than add water untill its like paste than put it on pimple(s) and leave it on over night.
Reply:An oily skin , as the name implies, is one in which the sebaceous or oil-producing glands are over active. As surface grease tends to attract dirt, an oily skin acquires a dirty surface film , that needs to be removed daily. For more details log to http://useinfo-oilyskin.blogspot.com/

Sun & skin?

what you think is sun light make your skin(face) getin old soon or it make it younger?

Sun %26amp; skin?
You should use sunscreen lotion whenever it's sunny outside and/or wear long clothing. Otherwise you might get skin cancer later on. If you're a girl that wants to look "tanned", there are probably some places (maybe a health spas or beauty salons?) that can airbrush paint or makeup on your body so you look golden tanned. The celebrities do it. Ask around about it.
Reply:Please learn to use proper grammar before posting a question that everyone will read.
Reply:It makes you look OLDER. Especially when you start aging. If you go out and tan in the sun a lot when you're young, when you get older your skin is going to wrinkle a lot sooner than other people. Your skin will also get rough and leathery. So you'll end up looking 10 years older than you really are. You are also more at risk of getting skin cancer, which is something that no one wants to go through.

My advice, don't be out tanning in the sun for hours and hours every weekend. It's ok to go every once and a while, but when you do make sure you're wearing sunscreen (at least SPF 15, if not higher).

If you want more info on how unhealthy tanning is go here: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/sun-dam...
Reply:Too much sun definatley ages your skin prematurely.. and it can cause cancers and hyperpigmentation (sun spots) .. wear an SPF moisturizer on ur face!

I'm a 36 year old male. What is the best product to use to make the skin on my face appear healthyand younger

wash your face regularly with a mild fase wash. You don't want to dry out your skin (unless it is very oilly). a face scrub will take off the dead skin and leave it smooth an young looking.

And as always,...always drink lots of water and WEAR SUNSCREEN... sun damage is the # 1 cause of wrinkles, spots, ect... SPF of at least 15.

I'm a 36 year old male. What is the best product to use to make the skin on my face appear healthyand younger
Try Proacne its the best solution every made
Reply:Try Proactiv. I'm 36 and it has done wonders for my skin. Try it it really works!!!
Reply:Try Strivectin SD. You can buy it at GNC for around $130/tube. This is crazy, but it was originally developed for womens' stretch marks, but is widely used by men as "Botox in a bottle", LOL. I use it twice a day religiously and it is amazing!
Reply:My husband turned 40 last year and I have him on the NutriMen System with Arbonne. It took years off him and he feels so much better about himself.

Factors that darken your skin?

Other than age and spending time in the sun, what else can darken your skin?

I was really fair when I was younger, but now I'm quite dark... it's almost like a permanent tan, haha. My mom believes it's because I don't "eat properly" - is that a factor? What else may have contributed?

Factors that darken your skin?
Nothing wrong with being dark skinned or light skinned. But factors that keeps you dark definately including being under the sun constantly. If you were indoors most of the time then your skin would become pale and lighter. Besides we all need some sun to have a nice healthy glow.

Food does have some effect towards your skin but is it not so dramatic unless you are always eating carrots and your skin turned orange! Otherwise improper eating habits does not make you darker.
Reply:Your skin is broken down into layers. The lowest of these layers contains cells callled melanocytes, which produce melanin, the product that gives pigmentation to just about anything in your body; hair, eyes, skin and so on. Melanin also acts as a sunscreen and protects the skin from ultraviolet light.

Knowing that piece of information, the color of your skin will depend on your genetic makeup and cultural background. Most dark skinned people come from areas were lots melanin is needed for survival. Light skinned people usually come from regions were the sun exposure is low.

So the main factors for pigmentation of your skin really comes down to just three: Sun Exposure (because you body adapts to environment) Genetics, and mutations (DNA mutations).

Suggest a foundation for my skin?

I'm early 30's and my skin just doesn't look as fresh as when I was younger...my pores seem larger, fine lines, etc. My skin is normal/dry. I've tried Bare Ecentuals, but it doesn't last all day and it looks 'cakey' on me. Dream Matte mousse is ok, but doesn't seem to provide even, all day coverage. My skin is fair with slight reddish undertones. Thanks.

Suggest a foundation for my skin?
COVERGIRL WHIPPED FOUNDATION

more coverage than dream matte
Reply:covergirl has some really good foundations. i have problems with my skin and makeup, but they always seem to work. My face never breaks out.
Reply:Hmm. Suprised Bare Ecentuals didn't work, thats my favorite. If you want you could try a primer (smashbox or mac) and it would make any make up stay on, and MAC has great all around products, you might wanna try that out. Hope it helped :D
Reply:use Sunrider. its expensive, but my girlfriend uses it and she says its GREAT. its also healthy for your skin.
Reply:i am also surprised that the bare minerals foundation didn't work too well. you might try philosophy's foundation called the supernatural. i haven't actually tried it yet, but all of their other products are AMAZING! so I'm sure that it would definitely work. it's worth a try.
Reply:have you tried bare minerals? I use it, my mom uses it, my sister uses it, my grandma uses it. It is the best make up I have ever tried. I can NEVER use anything else. Just look at their site and you'll know what I mean
Reply:Cover girl or true match just try to find the closest one to your skin tone and it wont look cakey and you might also want to try a foundation that isnt very perfumey because it may lead to acne and no one wants that! but i would definetly try cover girl . some websites for example www.freakyfreddies.com offer different makeup samples so you can try them without having to buy them , then you could choose the one you like best! i hope this helps. good day!
Reply:First of all do not go with a drugstore brand, if you want quality you want department store quality, expecially for foundation. My favorite foundation is Motives custom blend foundation, it can be custom blended to your exact skin color, but you need a Motives consultant to do the initial formula for you. Their fluid silk is a great alternative, it is premade. The makeup doesn't even feel like your wearing anything and it really does even out your skin. You can get it online from

Sun on skin?

Is it true that most people are intimidated by a Muslim woman who is articulate, confident, intelligent, educated, pure and who covers her head?

And are these same people also intimidated by the fact that, in ten years' time, this Muslim woman will look much younger than them since she has not exposed much skin to the sun?

Also, chances of her acquiring skin cancer are remote compared to her non-Muslim sisters and brothers of the world.

And, no, if you look around closely, sunscreens haven't done their job quite well.

Sun on skin?
I do not believe that it is necessarily intimidation. I know I am not intimidated in the least. I love meeting all sorts of people. Different cultures will follow their own traditions. Most non-Muslims don't even think of skin cancer when they go out in the morning. Their primary concern is looking good for the present day. I do not question Muslim culture, they have followed their traditions for too long for any individual to have the right to question them at the present. Non-Muslims will never feel it important enough to cover themselves just as Muslims, if given the choice, would still choose to cover themselves. For both cultures it is a way of life, a second nature. Neither feels the need to change their ways
Reply:Not true about intimidation at all. True that she probably has better skin than many Americans though.

Over the past 1 1/2 years, I have lost about 60lbs. Is there a way that I can get rid of the excess skin?

I dont like to exercise and I have excess skin around my abdomen and arms. Is there a way to tighten it without surgery? Please keep in mind that I am 41 and not as young as I used to be...LOL

Over the past 1 1/2 years, I have lost about 60lbs. Is there a way that I can get rid of the excess skin?
you can only get rid of it with surgery
Reply:plastic surgery
Reply:Im pretty sure that the only 2 ways to get rid of the excess skin is exercise and surgery. Exercise really isnt that bad. Try it for just a few weeks, you will see how it makes a difference and can make you feel great.
Reply:good for u losing the weight but I'm pretty sure u will need an operation ask your local doctor and see what he or she says
Reply:Well, if you dont like exercise and surgery....i dont see any other to way to lose the excess skin.

Exercise is the best and cheapest way to do it, although because of the age, it might not tighten it as much as you want it to but it will tighten once you've been exercising for a long time. You need to do weights and crunches to lose the excess skin.

Good Luck!
Reply:Exercise is the best way. Think you have already slim down , now is the excess skin to deal with , I can't see there is any other way except the surgery.

Surgery is not as bad as you think , it is fast %26amp; effective.

Other possibility I can think of is apply chemical to the skin so that it will shrink in size. But then the chemical must be smart enough to shrink in width and not in length . You know what I mean . Ha Ha ...
Reply:Sure! There is an excellent product called cocoa butter. There are a few different companies out there but look for cocoa butter. It is used to remove stretch marks and tighten up the skin I have used it and personally saw an improvement. It was suggested to me by a Dr.
Reply:If you have lots of loose skin nothing is going to work but surgery. You can exercise to gain muscle but if the skin so loose it won't go away. A friend of mine lost 80 and she tried and tried with exercise. She finally had the surgery. She had many complications but in the end was happy with the result.
Reply:i am a weight-losc coach and I have a product that tightens flabby skin after/while losing weight. It is called Aminogen. Go to my website. Fill out the contact page and I will get you the information. Have a good day.

Am I too young for a feather/thread lift?

I'm 28 years old and very unhappy with my skin especially my face. I used sunbeds for years when I was younger and I'm sure they have damaged my skin. My skin has began to sag and my cheeks have fallen to my jaw line. My friends and family say they don't notice any change but I do and I'm the one that has to live with it.

Can anyone recommend a plastic surgery procedure apart from a full face lift that I would benefit from, and what is the difference between a thread lift and a feather lift. Thankyou.

Am I too young for a feather/thread lift?
No, but I would not recommend a feather/thread lift for anyone. There are associated with a lot of complications, give very limited results and no reputable doctor will perform them. All I can say is be very cautious of this procedure.

A feather and a threadlift are pretty much the same thing, just a slightly different technique, but bother are equally problematic.

There are other options such an endoscopic browlift for the forehead or even botox can elevate the brows temporarily.

Also for the face, there is a procedure called a MACS lift which is a less invasive type of facelift. It repositions the muscles of the face and lifts the cheek pad. Incisions run from the temples, in front of the ears and just up behind the ear, but not into the hairline.

If you have damaged skin, then you may like to consider a chemical peel or laser resurfacing.

I hope this helps.
Reply:no u r not too young for it.

Why are you young women threatened by a baby boomer?

I am a baby boomer. Smart, look younger than I am. My style of dress is classy. I am a hard worker. Quick witted and comfortable in my own skin. When I am in the company of younger women and their men, I can feel the hate from the women. I am probably old enough to be their mother. What is that about?

Why are you young women threatened by a baby boomer?
You sound just like my mom and, yes, she goes through the same stuff you're going through. She's always trying to figure out why this happens to her and she's gotten to a place where she realizes that it's jealousy. She's very confident and a take charge person along with being beautiful and young looking for her age. Men are usually crazy about my mom and that often makes other women dislike her. Like I said, it's all about jealousy. If you get to a place where you realized that it's not really about you, but about these other women's insecurities, it'll be easier to just accept that it's going to happen and that it's not your fault. One more thing, even though you're an older woman, you're still a threat because you don't look your age, and a lot of younger men know that older women have got it going on.
Reply:Do you come off as a "know-it-all" or do you tell the "I remember" stories?

Do you accept that they may know somethings you don't know.

Before you decide the younger women are the problem check yourself out first.

I'm saying you're the problem but it's easier to check there first.
Reply:They are used to having every think given to them. What you have can not be given, it has to be earned. That's a concept they don't understand.
Reply:Maybe the hate is in your head. I am most likely younger than you (young woman, in other words), and I wouldn't bear a grudge against you because of the way you acted, unless it was exceedingly annoying. And even in that case scenario, I'd merely make an attempt to avoid you as much as possible. Or I'd tell you to shut your obnoxious trap. But that's about all I would do. Maybe I'm just weird. If you're correct in your description, though, I'd say that what the women were feeling is more envy than hate.
Reply:Do you remember being in your 20's? Haven't you probably developed that comfort in your own skin over time? Lots of young women are finding their way in the world, so I don't know, maybe that's it. Having said that, if you really feel hate coming from them ALL, there's generally a reason for that. You're not Samantha from Sex and the City or something? My mum's a baby boomer and i've genuinely racked my brains but I can't remember feeling threatened by someone my mother's age.
Reply:I am 19 and I do not recall being threatened by an older woman (haha except for my mother) ever. If you feel like they are threatened by your presence have you stopped to think if maybe you come off like a know it all? I am not saying you do that but a lot of older people are always like "well you will learn" or "you are just not mature" and always give you the "better" way to do something. Maybe the younger women that are around you just feel intimidated because you are classy and intelligent. Also, men like older women and the women might feel as if you are a threat to their relationship. Maybe to them it seems like you are flirting with their man. Sorry that you have this problem.

Why is the skin on my face looks tight and younger looking at about midnight but looks caked/puffy in daytime?

i'm serious here. i find i look much younger and better late night at about 11pm onwards. But my face looks wide and a little swollen during the day. could it be just the daylight playing tricks on me? does this occur to you as well? is it normal for our face muscles or whatever it is that is causing this effect to expand during the daytime?

Why is the skin on my face looks tight and younger looking at about midnight but looks caked/puffy in daytime?
It sounds like facial edema (bloat) building up while you sleep. It's common in sedentary women with high sodium diets. This naturally goes away as you are upright during the day.

I would try sleeping on your back and slightly elevated on a pillow. Also, try to avoid salt as it will increase water retention. Lastly, morning aerobic excrcise or yoga will increase circulation to your face.

Male facial skin care.?

Hey guys, superficial question time. I have been travelling for the last three years around the globe. Most of this time I have been in the sun. I never bothered to think about skin care or sun protection. I noticed that I'm already looking alot older. My question is, for a guy, what are the best options for the skin on my face to make it look younger. I hear Botox, but it sounds expensive, what about creams or laser procedures...I dunno, some one through me a clue :)

Male facial skin care.?
YOU DON´T NEED TO PURSUE EXPENSIVE AND RISKY EXTREMES LIKE BOTOX, LASERS, AND THE LIKE NOR EXPENSIVE OTC CREAMS, LOTIONS, SERUMS, ETC. WITH THEIR MANY DUBIOUS CLAIMS:

I also suffered from sun exposure and from use of soaps, cleaners and other products with harsh chemical ingredients. Successfully treated it with a low cost, safe natural treatment that I discovered by chance and it was effective after a few weeks.

To reverse damage, restore skin to total health and keep it healthy, massage with a quite strong, vigorous motion(that is the key to it working). Once a day - better at night as it makes face flushed. You will find you can make it more vigorous as you progress. Use an organic oil - coconut, vitamin E and olive oils work really well. Skin is always shedding and renewing, the massaging friction invigorates and heals and hastens a fresh new skin to emerge. Initially, the skin has to adjust and if soreness, breakouts or other reactions happen - skin might expel poisons that need to be expelled - then stop and resume when you can. You have to find the pace that works for you - it's different for every person. Stick with it %26amp; in a week or so you will see a great improvement and overtime (a few weeks) skin will return to natural health. Keeping up a massage routine(not as vigorous) after that will make it stay that way. You will not need to use any other product or treatment. I've experimented with many other treatments but this is the only one that definitely works. YOU CAN EMAIL ME IF NEED MORE INFO.

Wait it out. There's nothing you can do except wait. Lots of people hate their family.
Reply:well if your 16 or older go to a friends and if your 16 and under do sumthing really bad u know lol
Reply:If you have a trusted adult friend in the area you can try talking to them about your concerns as well.
Reply:Be a good example to them...refuse unhealthy food, keep up your own good hygene, etc....

Try offering to clean up in exchange for money. If you have the money, then you can buy things yourself until you're old enough to strike out on your own.
Reply:Britbrit123,

Are they you're family? Well, if they are.. family comes first, and you need to love them either way. Try talking to them into it. Soon you'll be moving out with a lot of money, but all you can do is be with your family, and enjoy how it is.

Take care.
Reply:Maybe you can stay with a friend if you want to move out?

and if you are 16 you can try to get a job and buy yourself stuff...

That or you can ask to do chores at home for money

Hang in there %26amp;good luck!!
Reply:You don't mention your age or whether your in school, so I don't really know what your situation is like. But when reading your question, the first thing that popped into my mind was that you might be able to join up with some kind of volunteer program where you would be able to donate your time to a worthy cause in exchange for living arrangements, expenses, etc. One of my co-workers will be moving to North Carolina in late August to work with Habitat for Humanity. Apparently they are going to provide housing, help her pay her living expenses and give her a $5,000 tuition stipend at the end of her year of service. This may not interest you / might not be possible for you at the current time, but it's something to keep in mind. Do some research and maybe you can find other similar programs. It would be a great way to turn a negative experience into a very positive one!
Reply:Don't go moving out with out any means of supporting your self. Could you put up with it for a couple of years more? If so I suggest you just tuff it out until you have the opportunity to leave. Get your self a part time job but also ensure you complete your studies. Eduction is everything these days and you'll be up against alot of competition when you begin wanting to start a Career in the future. If you don't you end up reliant on other people or stuck in a go no where situation. I have a couple of friends who left home early for a variety fo reasons who did not get jobs or finish their schooling and they are in the same dead end jobs now as they were 5 years ago and can't get any better ones because they have no skills.

think very seriously before leaving home. Is the situation so awful that you must leave or are you being a bit impulsive and could hold on for a bit?

How would you behave around your brother's girlfriend if she commented on your weight and skin?

My brother is serious about his girlfriend, a beautiful and accomplished young woman. He's going to marry her in time. She's very sweet and tries very hard but there's a problem. She comments on my weight and skin and tells me what to do.

She once told me about an acne product and advised me to use it. I didn't ask or make any comment about my complexion, I had just been stressed and broken out. She also told my that I ate too much junk food when I mentioned wanting to lose weight. At that time I barely ate anything at all. I'm older than her and don't appreciate being told what to do but I don't want to say anything.

She asks me a lot of questions and I do not feel like divulging the answers. She may ask 3 times if I don't answer. Her rationale is that she was just making small talk.

What should I do? Tell her nicely to not comment on my appearance? That I like privacy? What should I say? Thank you.

How would you behave around your brother's girlfriend if she commented on your weight and skin?
I would say sit down with her and have a heart to heart with her, let her know that although her "advice" although well intended is not always constructive or wanted, and that you are happy that she wants to become closer with you but there are just somethings that you feel should be kept private, and to your self.

If she is truely as kind as a person as you have made her out to be she may not know that what she is doing is offencive to you and will gladly try and correct her ways. HOWEVER, if she is really just a mean person it could all backfire on you and she could turn meaner. i really hope that she just doesnt know that hse is offending you and will try and keep her misguided advice to herself.

Good luck.

Maybe if you try her suggestions you won't break out when you're stressed and you'll be able to lose some weight.

Is that such a bad thing?

Perhaps she's being a bit aggressive about it, but after all, you're the one who brought up the weight issue, according to your story.

Perspective is everything.

Then change the subject to the news or something neutral. If she tries to argue with you or get you to discuss any more personal things, say again, "Perhaps you misunderstood the first time. I do NOT wish to discuss any personal matters. Thank you for understanding." and that's it. Watch out for this one, honey, because she is a real sneaky devious piece of work and will be as bitchy as you let her be, so set your ground rules NOW.

I guess the type person I am I my body language or expressions on my face cuts the drama when I meet a person. I guess I'm just too direct...I would love for someone to come at me like that. Anyway good luck! If she is not truly a bad person and your brother loves her then just block her out.

Reply:I would tell her nicely that you don't like to discuss your appearance. "Please. I really mean it. Yes, really. Please don't ask me again. I want us to be friends since you're marrying my brother but this is making it difficult. Thank you for your understanding." Be blunt. She doesn't seem to pick up subtle hints very well.

Im fine with that because i love him.
Reply:Is your question more on the lines of why is an old man with a young woman or is it an old white man with a younger non-white woman? I am really confused by your question.

I think any man who is very old with a really young woman looks weird- but since I cannot judge them I dont. To each his own- if they are in love then that is their business...
Reply:I do not know where you get all these weird ideas. In our part of the world, people get married mostly arranged by the elders or if given a choice, the girl or the boy wise enough to chose the partner based on his qualification, family background, etc. than his good looks and colour of the skin. In a survey conducted, the percentage attributed the colour of the skin and look is only 5%.

Is it true or not that if you feed a baby a certain food when they are young they will become allergic to it?

Not sure if this has been asked before or not. But I was watching a episode of Tori and Dean "Inn Love", a few months ago and Dean was feeding their son a bit of chocolate. The nanny caught him and told him not to do that because the baby would become allergic to it. Had me wandering, because when I was younger my mom had given me a chocolate cake(a small one) for like my second bday. And indeed in the pics that she took I was tearing that thing up, lol. But it still got me thinking is it possible for babies to form food allergies from things they never had before, by eating it very young? Because I don't really believe the scientists and deremtologists when they say no one is allergic to chocolate. Because I know when I eat some now, I always get breakouts. I also have naturally oily skin too. But I'm using the proactiv and other facial cleansers as well that sort of help. But between stress and a bit of chocolate I have major breakouts. Anyone think there could be a connection there?

Is it true or not that if you feed a baby a certain food when they are young they will become allergic to it?
Your breakouts (unless you are getting hives) are not because you are allergic per se to chocolate. Some foods cause acne outbreaks in some people while others do not. This is probably something that you will outgrow.

The theory that feeding foods at an early age can cause allergy is more often seen with nuts than anything else. I dont know the scientic proof or disproof, but nuts are one of those crazy things. And one does become allergic with repeated exposure.

I think most 'reactions' in children is simply because there system cannot handle the food yet, as someone above me mentioned with honey.

And contrary to someone else, allergies are not genetic, not always atleast. I have a crap load of allergies, and no family history. You can develope allergies over time, and current allergies can disappear over time. It just depends on your immune system and how much you are exposed to the allergen.
Reply:This is not true. Foods are introduced to a child slowly so not to upset their stomachs and to be able to determine which foods the child may or not be allergic to. There are certain foods a child cannot have until after their second birthday, such as honey. A child's immune system cannot handle honey.
Reply:Yes, it is true that babies can develope allergies if they are fed anything but formula or breast milk for the first 6 months. After that foods should be added one at a time in the order that pedicatricians recommend. That being said, give your poor mom a break. There haven't always been an abundance of information out there about child raising and the internet is a relatively new thing in the scheme of things. Eating chocolate cake when you were two probably didn't make you allergic to chocolate. By the time we are two, our digestive systems are developed enough to handle most things.
Reply:allergies are genetic.if u got them u got them if u dont u dont.
Reply:yes its true tht some babies have allergies to certain food because mayb because of their inmune system not tht strong yet or could be due to the body could not accept tht certain kind of food.it depends also the age of the infant as u were saying whn u were a baby ur mum feed u chocolate, i don thk its healthy for a small child as its not the proper kind of food tht a baby should eat.erm...u are allergy to chocolate well im not quite sure abt this but im sure many ppl do have allergies to different kind of food like i have a fren who is allergy to nuts..well u gt to bear wit it.

For 2 months my bulldog has smelled the worst smell ever.not his skin.Baths dont help.Anyone got any answers?

my english bulldog cartman is 9(a year past the average death age for an english bulldog)He has always been healthy(only two times in his life he has been sick.Rashes over his stomach during two summers. The vet said each time they were just allergic reactions so they gave us antibiotics and benadryl and he was fine in 2 days)He is slow and sleeps all of the time because he is a very old bulldog. However if you ever want to get him riled up you can just wrestle him and he will seem like a young adult pit bull. You just have to iniciate it.But two months ago he started smelling so bad.The vet gave us the same pills as before even though he DID NOT HAVE RED SKIN.He has red eyes and just smells BAD.It is indescribible.I saw on that MTV show and heard that when bulldogs eat meat bones they get stuck in them instead of coming out and it causes smell. The smell is coming from his behind but also from everywhere else on his body. That is what confuses me.Baths dont help!Does anyone know what to do

For 2 months my bulldog has smelled the worst smell ever.not his skin.Baths dont help.Anyone got any answers?
this supplement should be of help, and good for hm too%26gt; http://springtimeinc.com/product/88/2

If you read the 'letters' they are genuine..

Being as this supplement has omega 3 fatty acids, and probiotics, and digestive flora, it will aid in complete digestion.and ,and nutrient absorption which may be slowing down at his age..

I am sure the vet would have already ruled out the anal sacs, so the problem is surely from the inside out..I would try the supplement.
Reply:You may need to have your vet check his anal glands. They will get full and kind of leak, and the fluid smells metallic and like rotten fish.
Reply:If you don't brush a dogs teeth they can carry a bacteria all over their body that cause a horrible odor, many people think that expressing the anal gland of an animal can help with odor also.
Reply:you might need to go and let the vet express his anal glands....it is the worst smell you can ever imagine.....Call your vet and ask them about getting some information about it or go looking for it on the internet.....good luck
Reply:i have a basset hound and i know if there ears are dirty in side places we cant see her whole body smells.this could happen with any dog.go to the pet store and get ear cleaner.this might help.
Reply:It may be a dental issue. or He may need his anal glands expressed (not a pretty job....vet usually will do this).
Reply:Take him to the vet. It could be his ears. Breeds with tight ears like that are more likely to develop an ear infection. Also, it could be his anal glands. When they're full they smell absolutely disgusting. It's a very unique smell, too, not like poo or dirtiness.

Get it checked out.
Reply:It could be his ears, try mixing in even amounts of water, peroxide and vinegar. Put a couple of drops in his ear for five days. If it is his ears you should smell the difference within the second day.
Reply:Please see a vet before you put your dog on a supplement. That is not to say that the answerer who talked about a supp. is wrong or misinformed, but just that it is better to consult a vet before changing your dog's diet. Perhaps the vet has advice on administration of this supplement, or can reccommend a similar product. If the product can not hurt your dog, then there is no harm in asking the vet. In addition, if after you consult the vet you decide to use the product anyway, that is comletely your choice. So please do the responsible thing and consult your vet first.

Another thing that confuses me... you are considering the possibility that your dog has not passed "meat bones" and so he smells. YOU SHOULD NOT FEED YOUR DOG BONES under any circumstances. It is unhealthy and can cause blockage or perforation of internal organs. If you do this, STOP IMMEDIATELY.
Reply:Might have impacted Anal Glands - Take to vet, they can empty glands ( very easy procedure -non invasive )

Anyone Apply Bare Minerals Using Flawless Face Brush for FULL Coverage & Do you use a primer 4 oily skin?

Hello Again. Thanks for all of your answers to my other Bare Minerals questions. I went to Sephora for a BE makeover, hoping to learn how to apply the stuff properly. The best tip that I got was not to use the Kabuki Brush since I am a Black woman. The young lady told me that the kabuki can make the minerals look ashy on darker skin. I have acne scarring for which I am seeing a derm. My wonderful doctor is really helping me get rid of the dark spots, but it'll take some time and I still need coverage. I don't want to look like too made up. I'm having success with the Flawless face brush, but I was wondering if anyone could share any tips/tricks to cover dark spots with Bare Minerals? I have lots of $ invested so switching brands is not an option. Do U use bisque to cover imperfections or do U just use the foundation? I just started with Smashbox primer to control oil, but after an hour, I'm oily again. I use a prescription acne gel (GR8 4 zits but not 4 oil). Thanks in advance!

Anyone Apply Bare Minerals Using Flawless Face Brush for FULL Coverage %26amp; Do you use a primer 4 oily skin?
I think you are doing all the right things. I just use the foundation and I also wash a lot with soap and water before I apply and then I spritz with water in a spray bottle during the day.

Oil blotting papers are great for excess oil during the day.
Reply:Thank you for the water spritz tip! I'm using rose water and so far, so good! Also, oil blotting papers RULE! Thanks for the reminder! I keep them in view now so I'll remember 2 use. Report It

Reply:if your skin is that oily then i would not put too much on it cause your just gonna clog your pores and get more acne. i'd dab on foundation over the spots that you are having problems with to cover it up. use one of those little wedge sponges. unfortunately if your skin is that oily then its gonna get oily after an hour and nothing short of medication is gonna stop that. id suggest bringing your primer with you for touch ups. good news is that you will not have a problem with wrinkles later in life!!

What is the oldest tree in the world? Is the Earth young if the tree is thousands of years old?

What is the oldest tree in the world?

If the oldest tree is thousands of years old, why can't we find trees that are million or billions of years old?

If the world is billions or millions of years old as they believed, why can't we find trees that are older than thousands of years old?

Is the Earth young?

How can carbon dating be dependable to date these old things?

How old is the first human that has been carbon dated, and what is the carbon date of that human? Was it accurate?

I heard some real stories in the internet and pictures about carbon dating is undependable. I remember I read an article about in the 1960s or 1970s, they carbon dated a dead dinosaur, it seems that the dinosaur's skin is approximately 10,000 years older than its bones.

What is the oldest tree in the world? Is the Earth young if the tree is thousands of years old?
Fossils don’t come with labels telling you how old they are. So, what about radiometric dating methods—don’t they prove millions of years? Well, these are far from infallible—they are indirect methods based on quite a few assumptions, and evolutionary geologists themselves will often not accept a radiometric date unless they think it’s correct (i.e. it matches what they already believe).

There are plenty of scientists who question their accuracy. For instance, the “RATE” project has discovered several striking examples of contradictions in these dating methods. If you want, you can get their book or movie called Thousands...Not Billions and learn about some of their remarkable results.

If you do a bit of research, you will find that there is a lot of evidence of radiometric dating not being accurate (like conflicting dates, or dates of millions of years for lava flows that occurred in the past few hundred years or even decades).

OK, is there evidence of younger dates for dinosaur fossils? Oh yeah (these are easy to look up).

In 1981, scientists identified unfossilized dinosaur bones which had been found in Alaska 20 years earlier. Dr. Philip Currie (an evolutionist) wrote about this and some similar finds, “An even more spectacular example was found on the North Shore of Alaska, where many thousands of bones lack any significant degree of permineralization. The bones look and feel like old cow bones, and the discoverers of the site did not report it for twenty years because they assumed they were bison, not dinosaur, bones.”

As Dr. Margaret Helder has said, “How these bones could have remained in fresh condition for 70 million years is a perplexing question. One thing is certain: they were not preserved by cold. Everyone recognizes that the climate in these regions was much warmer during the time when the dinosaurs lived.”

In 1990 a sample of various dinosaur bones were sent to the University of Arizona for a “blind” Carbon-14 dating procedure. “Blind” in the sense that they didn’t tell them what the bones were. The oldest date they got was 16 thousand years. Now I don’t think they are even that old, but that’s a far cry from the millions of years evolutionists suggest. If dinosaurs became extinct more than 65 million years ago, there should be no carbon-14 left in their bones. Evolutionist of course say the samples must have been contaminated.

In 1990, Scientists from the University of Montana found T. rex bones that were not totally fossilized and even found what appeared to be blood cells in them. Dr. Mary Schweitzer said, “It was exactly like looking at a slice of modern bone. But, of course, I couldn’t believe it. … The bones, after all, are 65 million years old. How could blood cells survive that long?” How indeed?

And then in 2005, they found an even greater discovery. Science Daily website said (March 25, 2005): “Dr. Mary Schweitzer . . . has succeeded in isolating soft tissue from the femur of a 68-million-year-old dinosaur. Not only is the tissue largely intact, it’s still transparent and pliable, and microscopic interior structures resembling blood vessels and even cells are still present.”

As Dr. David Menton said, “It certainly taxes one’s imagination to believe that soft tissue and cells could remain so relatively fresh in appearance for the tens of millions of years of supposed evolutionary history.”

Wouldn’t that be a hit for the meat industry if we could figure out how to preserve meat for so long?
Reply:how can a tree live for a million years old??

it has to die sometimes u know
Reply:First of all, carbon dating. Carbon dating is only good to about 50,000 or 60,000 years, so even if we did have a dinosaur's skin (which we don't) we couldn't determine its real age. And it only works with things that were once alive, like wood or cloth, not with fossils. Bring in a piece of Noah's Ark or the Cross and then you'd have something! (The Shroud of Turin has already been shown to be a fraud).

Now as to the tree. If you believe the scientists, the earth is something like 9 billion years old but was only capable of supporting life for the last few hundred million years. Life began with single-celled animals in the sea, then plants, then fish, then animals, etc., in fact Genesis mostly agrees with this progression. So trees, as we know them, have only been around for a few hundred million years.

Now, in order for a tree to live even 1000 years there has to be a steady climate, constant air pressure, temperature and other conditions like moisture, minerals in the soil, etc. The earth is still in a state of flux, cooling and heating, continents moving around, etc. As late as 10,000 years ago most of North America was covered by glaciers!

Finally, as has been pointed out, a tree can only live so long. 3000 or 4000 years really is a long time if you think about it!

To below: you still have difference b/w dinosaurs and early mammals then large mammals such as mammoths, giant swaths, saber tooth etc. Without even taking in the science of radioactive isotope decay.

You have geologic evidence of Pangaea (one land mass) and have tectonic evidence all-around the world for ash deposit at the same time from one impact event.

You have cyclical burial of snow in ice cores that date back hundreds of thousands of years like tree rings. You have the Hawaiian island chain and the plate movement and volcanic activity that made them; you have oil deposits from inland seas and fluvial deposits and fossilized vegetation in the Gobi dessert, etc.

The evidence is more than enough. If you want to assume that all this is possible in the span of 6000 years and that man was with them the whole time while these major things where going on, impossible.

Make up of Canada for instance was started more than 1 billion years ago called the Canadian shield is made up of granite, to the west are the plains which are made of sedimentary rocks. Rocky Mountains have lime stone (calcium carbonate) which comes from coral reef so does the top of mount Everest in the Himalayas and the dolomites in Italian alps. First major oil discovery in Canada was hitting a pinnacle reef 2000m below ground once again limestone. Foundation of Alberta oil reserves are based on Ammonites. Tundra area or permafrost was once swampland like everglades now frozen solid. Australia once was made up of nearly all mountain areas. with an inland sea. Canada and the US had and inland sea as well runnng through Alberta to Texas.

US military has mapped ocean floor discovered magnetite layers are pointing in opposite bands or strips, meaning metal in rocks aligned in the direction of magnetic north pole, shows that earths poles have changed many times in the past and stayed changed for hundreds of thousand of years before changing again.

There is much more to discuss but perhaps you should go to a dinosaur museum. There were native Indians living in Canada without horses and with only bows and arrows and a hatchet do you think they would have been able to take on an Albertasaurus or a Tyrannosaurus rex? Or for that matter why are there no archeological sites, where these guys ate these things or even mammoths. They all were in Canada at one time.

You would have everyone believe that someone has feasible dinosaur tissue. Wow I think I watched that movie Jurassic Park I think it was called, and they had to go and get their DNA from insects petrified in amber. Buy the way maybe you should look up amber and how it is formed, why it is a precious stone and how long it takes to create. But I agree it would be great if we could reproduce dinosaurs.

Is it possible that some species of dinosaurs survived into human time? I think that is feasible. It seems that most ancient cultures in central Asia and central Europe such as the Hattian and Chinese as well as the Mayan in South America had a belief in some sort of dragon like serpent. Seeing how they were far apart and that folk lore is usually based on a concrete event, I would have to say there were most probably a possibility of some sort of species of reptile that was able to survive although not in large quantities.

What facial products do you recommend for over 50 skin?

My mother is in her mid 50's and I think she looks younger than people her age and even younger who are younger than her. She uses a lot of Olay's products. The two things that really make your skin look 10X better is 1. exfoliate and 2. moisturize. Exfoliating gets rid of dead skin cells on the face, while the moisturizer keeps the new cells healthy and hydrated.

They both have specific products for eyes, lips and general facial care. Any skin care products you decide to go with you should use for at least a month for optimal results (unless it gives you a rash or something then discontinue use immediately).

Reply:I use to sell a non-surgical face lift product that gave amazing results for many women. It is a 30-minute process. A skin cleansing step, then a mask which tightens and firms the skin and facial muscles. The final step is a moisturizer. I still use the product weekly. The name of the product is Skindulgence Non-Surgical Facelift. A while ago, this product was being pitched by Kim Alexis. Definitely worth a try.

I am trying to tan, but I have semi fair skin, is there a easy way to get tan?

I have light skin and freckles but when I was younger and outside a lot I tanned fairly easily. Now that I have less time to go outside and tan and the weather isn't exactly favorable, I want to get tan for prom and my senior pics. [[I've used tanning beds before]] I want to know if I should use lotions, and if so what kinds? How long should I go? Our local tanning bed recently got two new tanning beds, a stand up and one that the owner said will tan you faster...does that mean it has stronger lights or better ones...which one should I use, the regular ones, the stand up, or the 'powerful' one? Are there any tips to possibly tan me faster without causing too much damage?...I know fake baking is bad so I don't need a lecture just some tips...and if you can let me know of some good tanning creams and sunless tanners...Thanks a bunch!

I am trying to tan, but I have semi fair skin, is there a easy way to get tan?
Call around and see if anyone has a Cyber bed; we have one at our salon, it has more lights and uses bronzing bulbs. You turn brown in the beginning, instead of red then brown. I am very fair and this is the best bed I've ever used. The use of these beds cost more, but is well worth the increase, you will start to notice a definite difference in just a few visits. Accelerators are a matter of choice, I like one called Hemp that does not add heat. I can't stand the burning sensation. Make sure you exfoliate (use a scrub) prior to tanning and good moisturizer before and after.
Reply:tanning spray its has oil in it and u tan easier
Reply:If you need to get tan in like a month, go 4-5 times a week and for the first week, go the least amount of time, 6 or 7 minutes. Then each week, move up a minute or two each session. I do that every year for a quick tan because I try to only tan 2-3 months out of the year.

Also, a lot of my friends to the spray-on tans and they look great. Just do it a couple days before your event and you have an instant sunless tan! They're about $25 per session and last a week or so.

Please give me advice on how to keep naturally glowing healthy skin even if I'm on a very strict diet plan.

I'm on a serious weight loss plan. I have to lose more than 40 pounds. Sometimes, I lose weight so fast. How can I keep a healthy-looking skin? I'm scared I might look very dry and much older after losing a lot of weight. It happened to me once when I lost 20 pounds quickly. I want to still look young even if my face gets smaller and I get thinner. help me. Thanks

Please give me advice on how to keep naturally glowing healthy skin even if I'm on a very strict diet plan.
Your face looks old and dry b/c you are not eating a healthy diet. Try losing the weight more slowly this time, and make sure that you are getting the proper nutrition on your diet. Which would you hate worse - fat and pretty or skinny and ugly?
Reply:Use baking soda...seriously. Mix it with your regular cleanser. Works wonders for Deal or No Deal's #25 (Haley).
Reply:Get on a good health supplement. I have been on Xango for almost a year and my skin has never looked better.
Reply:Drink lots of water. Keep up on your vitamins. Apply vitamin E oil at night and wash it off in the morning. And exercise -- circulation helps with skin color.
Reply:water water water!! but not too much with meals or you'll flush the vitamins too quickly thru your system and won't absorb what you need, and you need all of them on a strict diet plan!!

also vitamins, flax seed oil, and a good moisturizer applied twice a day ((i like philosphy's "hope in a jar" a bit pricey but well worth it!!)) you only hv one face and its easier ((and cheaper)) to prevent damage than to reverse it. good luck!!!
Reply:Just take vitamin E 400IU in the AM and another 400IU in the PM and use a facial cream that contains both vitamin E and bees wax

Can sleeping with a fan on cause any problems like dry skin?

I have slept with my fan on all my life. But I have dry skin and my eyes become irritated easily in air conditioned places. I have begun to wonder whether this is due to the fan.

I also had a sinus problem when I was young and had to have surgery- I think this was because I had a fan blowing on my face every night.

What does everyone think?

Can sleeping with a fan on cause any problems like dry skin?
i think that yes, sleeping with a fan facing you may cause your dry skin. I used to sleep with a fan facing me every night, and got a severe sinus infection. Your best bet would be to do like i had to do, and turn the fan opposite from you, trust me it works wonders
Reply:probably yes
Reply:if you must sleep with a fan on, make sure the air can circulate ...meaning don't close all the doors and windows to your room. And never sleep with the fan blowing on you. Some people have died doing that.

With my square/heart shapped face & high cheak bones & very pale skin what would be my ideal hair style?

Well, I'm a teenager but I want to look slightly older than I do, because right now I look like I'm 13. As I said I have a square/heart shapped face and high cheek bones and very pale skin. So what kind of hair style would make me look older, better and not like a man? Because so far shoulder length makes me look young, and short makes me look like a man. so any help? or suggestions?

If your hair is straight, I'd put some curls in it.

I want to lose weight about 7 stone but i am terrified of my skin sagging?
as long as u exercise and dont lose weight fast u shud be ok!! goooood luck hun!!!!! :-) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Reply:you should be fine as long as you exercise as well. being in your twenties, you skin is still elastic enough that it sould "spring" back into place. if you still have any doubts you should consult a doctor.
Reply:Lose no more than a pound a week and you should be ok. People only really suffer from sagging when they lose weight too fast (more than 3lbs a week) and generally only happens to older people as their skin is less elastic due to collagen degradation. Good luck with everything!
Reply:Great post! I totally understand how you feel. I'm also trying to lose weight and I found this great product which is working for me. You can check the website at

http://www.hyperl.info , I had a free trial and paid less than 6.00$ shipping and handling. Best of luck!
Reply:if you lose as much as seven stone then you probably will have some saggy skin, skin is elastic but if you stretch it beyond a certain amount, it will lose its ability to return to its former state
Reply:Losing 7 lbs. wouldn't make your skin sag. if you want some tips visit my blog at http://uk.360.yahoo.com/neville044
Reply:I think of it this way...would I rather have some loose skin but be at a good weight/size...or would I rather have that skin full of fat and still be overweight and unhealthy?

I lost 90 lbs in a few months (years ago) and I do have a bit of loose skin, but it beats being 230+ lbs.

As you lose weight, do toning exercises to help build up your muscles a little bit (they won't get too big for females) and lose the weight slowly. Flab typically occurs when weight is lost faster than the skin can keep up, or when one is quite morbidly obese and the skin has been stretched beyond it's ability to "shrink" as you do.

The plus is, the skin can be removed if desired after you've hit your goal weight...but if you lose the weight in a healthy manner, it's unlikely to be necessary.

Good luck!
Reply:if you really want to lose your weight don't worry.exercise daily with some hard workouts, drink fresh jucies.if you want more details view the website
Reply:you are quite young. as you get older you'r skin losses elsticity and it increases you'r chance of skin sagging. the key thing's to rember is to loose the weight gradualy, it stays off alot better and you'r skin is slowly aloud to shrink back whihc decrease you'r chance of sagging. the other important thing is to make sure you exercise and tone up pretty much from the minute you start lossing weight.

good luck and rember that having saggy skin can be fixed and is better than being over weight.
Reply:If you drink a lot of water this will help prevent the skin from "sagging", naturally when you lose weight the skin wants to sag but water helps tighten it up. Also exercise will help to prevent this. It's probably best to get a bit of advice from your doctor before you begin.
Reply:if u do exercise and eat healthy food during your diet your skin will not hang.
Reply:well put it this way u must of put on alot of weight for it to be sagging when u do lose it the weight you put on has been streatched for the long lenght of time u have been over weight so am affraid that sagging is gonna happen but there is surgery for people that have lost alot of weight and had excess skin removed maybe u can consider that.

Your rate of metabolism dictates how many calories you burn. Heredity, gender, age, body size. diet and nutrition, activity level, and your overall health factor in on determining how high or low your metabolism is. It is normal for metabolism levels to lower as a person ages. Because of this it is important to begin stepping up your exercise routines in your thirties and forties.

Ways to Boost Your Metabolism

Eat Regularly - Eating 5-6 small meals throughout the day will give you energy throughout the day--helping you to burn calories. Whereas, calories eaten during larger meals tend to get stored as fat.

Maintain a Balanced Diet - Not only how often you eat is important, but your food choices are equally as important. Nurture you body with the appropriate balance of protein and carbs.

Eating whole foods rather than processed food gives your digestive system a workout that burns calories. For example: choose an apple over apple juice.

Workout with Weights - Building muscle mass will replace stored fat. As you build muscle tissue your metabolism increases.

Don't Forget Cardio - You need to get that heart rate up and breathe a little heavier. Twenty to thirty minutes of cardiovascular activity 5 days a week is recommended. Brisk walking or swimming are good. Or utilize exercise equipment (exercise bike, treadmill, or elliptical trainer)

Fruits and vegetables are clearly an important part of a good diet. Almost everyone can benefit from eating more of them, but variety is as important as quantity. No single fruit or vegetable provides all of the nutrients you need to be healthy. The key lies in the variety of different fruits and vegetables that you eat.

Some basic fruit and vegetable tips:

• Try to eat more fruits and vegetables. If you need 2,000 calories a day to maintain your weight and health, aim for at least nine servings (4½ cups) a day.

• Choose a variety of different fruits and vegetables. It's easy to get into a rut when it comes to the food you eat. Break out and try a wider variety - include dark-green, leafy vegetables; yellow, orange, and red fruits and vegetables; cooked tomatoes; and citrus fruits.
Reply:aim to lose no more than 2 pounds a week and do regular exercise and you should be fine good luck

Wrinkled skin after bath time?

When My youngest son (9) is finished bath time, his skin is all wrinkled.

How can I prevent this?

Wrinkled skin after bath time?
everyones skin gets wrinkled after being in water for a period of time and then it goes back to normal in a short time

if he enjoys playing in the tub

let him be nothing harmful is happening
Reply:The wrinkles are caused by water absorption into the skin. It is temporary and not harmful, just funny looking!! To prevent it, cut down his bath time. Hope this helps!!
Reply:you have just been in the water too long
Reply:Well, uh...this happens to everyone.

Wrinkled skin after bath time?

When My youngest son (9) is finished bath time, his skin is all wrinkled.

How can I prevent this?

Wrinkled skin after bath time?
you can't. when you are in the water for a long time, your skin prunes. everybody gets it if they're in there for long enough.
Reply:well, i think he spends too long in the bath, beacuse that happens to me too, if i'm in the shower too long .
Reply:guess his skin is sensitive or looses moisture very easily. try using baby oil on his body before bath time that should lock in moisture
Reply:The skin is not completely waterproof and the bathwater is absorbed into the outer layers of the skin and swells it making it wrinkle. Short of rubbing him in with grease which would defeat the object of the bath there is nothing you can do to prevent it. It is not harmful and The skin soon dries out naturally to its normal state.
Reply:It's NORMAL and FUN!!!

Wrinkled skin after bath time?
shorter bath, this happens to EVERYONE, including yourself if you sit in the bath for awhile
Reply:let him have fun and enjoy his bath. so what if he's getting wrinkly? it happens to us all. there's no harm. just be glad that he likes bathing!
Reply:You can't it's totally normal don't worry about it.
Reply:My husband gets like this in the shower! Some people might just be prone to it more then others. I think it may have something to do with the little amount of fluids my husband takes in...maybe try to get your son to drink more water
Reply:You can't. It goes away shortly. If you really can't stand it give him shorter baths.
Reply:Everyone's skin gets wrinkley when they take baths or are in water for a while. Haven't you ever went swimming, taken a bath, or played in a hot tub and then looked at your fingers and toes afterwards....They are wrinkled. It's nothing to worry about and there's no way to prevent it. When he drives off completely and about 10 minutes after his bath, his skin will go back to normal. Let him have fun in the bath, don't try to rush him just because you don't want his skin to be wrinkled. It's not going to hurt him in the slightest.
Reply:ANd this never happened to you? Everyone does this. Its normal. It happens faster in young children. Its not dangerous.

Chill
Reply:The only prevention I know if is a shorter bath, or taking showers instead.

But the wrinkling won't hurt, it's normal.

How can you remove an indian ink tattoo from the skin?

Hi about 15 years ago i rather naively put the words XTC onto my arm in indian ink. Not fully realising and/or thinking about how it would be there for the rest of my life. I was young and naive.

Anyway ive heard that there are various laser treatments and other treatments to remove tattoos from the skin. But its not exactly easy finding out more info even google doesnt return many results for "how to remove indian ink"

Has anyone else ever used indian ink and then succesfully removed it afterwards? Id be very greatfull for any help and maybe these might help other people too? I just want to get rid of that ugly reminder of a part of my life!

How can you remove an indian ink tattoo from the skin?
Check with a spa in your area that specializes in beauty treatments (chemical peels, laser treatments, botox, etc.). If they do not perform the laser tatoo removal there, they may be able to refer you to someone who does. I warn you though, mine was very painful and expensive. It is not something that is done in one appointment - it can take up to a year or two depending on how deep the ink is (every 8 weeks). It may or may not scar - mine didn't and that's the reason for getting laser - it's not supposed to scar, but it can if the tatoo is very deep. Another method would be to check with the local tatoo artists and see if any of them tatoo with lemon juice. This is a method of removal also, and I've heard it works great on indian ink. Good luck to you!
Reply:Why don't you try to get another tattoo to cover it instead?
Reply:laser is the only way and it can only be done with a lot of $$ also u will get a scar
Reply:Scissors
Reply:In the tattoo world, that is called a "jail house".....and no, you didn't have to be in jail to get one. It's just a term.

I would think about covering it with another tat.

Laser procedure cost like $100 a session and there will be more than one session, possibly 4. It is very painful, and will

leave you with a scar in the shape of the tat.

So, I would really think it over.

good luck

How do I do the best for my aging skin?

I am a 38 year old guy and suddenly I no longer look young for my age. symptoms:

lines on forehead,

lines to the side off eyes (real long, more like crows legs than feet), suddenly smaller ones under eyes,

enlarged pores on either side of nose.

deep line forming from nostril to side of mouth.

droopy skin from bags under my eyes to the deepline from nostril just mentioned.

this all seemed to happen quite suddenly. I am open to anything and ignorant about all. have been wearing sun screen for years.

do I add in, moisturizer, cleanser, toner... which are the ones that make a difference, and in what order do you apply them and sunscreen?

I am willing to try botox, renova, microderm, etc. but have no idea what is best for my particular combo of problems.

any suggestions greatly appreciated. also any recommendations for getting objective info. it seems everybody one could ask, including dermatologists, has there own interest in any answer they give.

thanks

How do I do the best for my aging skin?
Hi, You use the cleanser first/ then the toner/ then the moister. Try to cut out one cup of coffee, drink more water. I bet you still look nice, and most important of all, if your a nice guy, who cares , I would kiss those lines because they are yours. I have a girlfriend with bad acne, she has had face peels, but you know I never notice her acne. she is fun and a good person, dont worry, they will get worse.
Reply:well just drinking plenty of water keeps your skin looking more youthful and keeps away some wrinkles
Reply:Lifestyle changes like exercising and eating healthy foods like whole grains, fruits and veggies and lean meats. Moderate alcohol, not eating late at night.

see www.cosmeticscop.com

www.krippspharmacy.com

Fish oils are good for internal and external skin care. Sunscreen essential.

Yoga is good for helping you listen to your body and how heavy foods feel in your stomach.www.yogajournal.com

You could do surgery, botox etc but the most I suggest if you dont want to look "done" is microdermabrasion or chemical peel to remove dead skin.

Watch makeover shows to get an idea of clothing that can help you look younger.
Reply:moisture moisture moisture! if you have dry skin then moisterizer will definilty help. Also cold compress will help with the bags under your eyes, maybe some napping too. But if all else fails, there is a new procedure that is like a semi face lift which I heard is non avasive. good luck!
Reply:Try a new product from Olay called Divinity. DO avoid sun exposure, wear sunscreen daily, and yes microdermabrasion probably twice a wk for your needs, and peels a must. Id also suggest collagen treatments, possibly injections of it.

Stay away from invasive surgery, its way too risky and quite harmful actually.

Also when applying creams or moisturizers..do not PULL on the skin, if at all, apply it in an UPWARD motion going against the movement of gravity. You mustn't avoid your neck at your age either if you want the best results. Good luck and do some research and use good judgment.

Does anyone have anymore quotes from Brigham Young (Mormonism) about blacks?

Brigham Young comments about blacks

"You see some classes of the human family that are black, uncouth, uncomely, disagreeable and low in their habits, wild, and seemingly deprived of nearly all the blessings of the intelligence that is generally bestowed upon mankind....Cain slew his brother. Can might have been killed, and that would have put a termination to that line of human beings. This was not to be, and the Lord put a mark upon him, which is the flat nose and black skin." (Journal of Discourses, Vol. 7, page 290).

"In our first settlement in Missouri, it was said by our enemies that we intended to tamper with the slaves, not that we had any idea of the kind, for such a thing never entered our minds. We knew that the children of Ham were to be the "servant of servants," and no power under heaven could hinder it, so long as the Lord would permit them to welter under the curse and those were known to be our religious views concerning them." (Journal of Discourses, Volume 2, page 172.)

"Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African race? If the white man who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God, is death on the spot. This will always be so." (Journal of Discourses, Volume 10, page 110.)

Does anyone have anymore quotes from Brigham Young (Mormonism) about blacks?
Why limit this to Brighham? Why not include Ezra Taft Benson, Joseph Fielding Smith, Bruce R McConkie, Mark E Peterson and John Taylor? Quoting the latter, "And after the flood we are told that the curse that had been pronounced upon Cain was continued through Ham's wife, as he had married a wife of that seed. And why did it pass through the flood? Because it was necessary that the devil should have a representation upon the earth as well as God" (Journal of Discourses 22:304).

Representative of the Devil? How democratic can you get?

That damned old Journal of Discourses. What a book!
Reply:Yes, that's it. Pick on one of the few religions who distanced themselves from the slave trade....they were the real 'racists' weren't they...

Reply:Here we go again!

People. get a grip, and get a life!

As a Mormon, and human being, I have never ascribed to the view of looking down on, or judging anyone, whether they be , black, yellow, or brown, or red, or white! I don't care what color your skin is! I do not feel this way!

There are a lot of views that my church has, that I don't agree! This one, if true, would be at the head of the list!

The other is their politics! The major portion of the Church's members are Republicans! (Oh, well )

I am a Democrat! And a liberal, too! So I guess that makes me a rebel! But I can handle the flack!

And I will say this again! Find another church to find fault with!

How about unrealistic celibacy for priests?

And all the rest of you God-fearing Christians who believe you have a right to attack someone else's church just because they have tenets, or views, or beliefs that don't co-incide with your views!

One of t he things we believe is that our Prophet gets revelations from God today! Don't you think we need counsel today, with sex, drugs, prevalent on every media, and crime at an all time high? I do! But because we believe that

He gets word from God today, does that make us so bad?

Where is it written in the Bible that God can not speak to us, whenever He wants to, and just who among you, are going to tell Him, that He can't do it?

Isn't gonna be me!

So, go ahead, and be my guest! YOU TELL HIM!

But, whatever you do, leave us alone, and go pick on somebody else!
Reply:Its True the first leaders of the Mormon chruch were racist.

Does plucking or threading cheek hairs is o.k. with skin ?

it is painful, consume lot of time, labour and some money too.

But it gives a very nice shape to the beard, dont get dense and hard, and gives a very young look.

I am doing this from last 7 years, but now i read its not good for skin and it ll definetely create problem in later years. Is that true ? should i stop ?

Does plucking or threading cheek hairs is o.k. with skin ?
ANytime you remove your hair it irritates the skin. Even shaving does leaving tiny little scrathes and razor burn. If your skin doen't look irritated and you perfer the look go for it.
Reply:yes I dont think it will have any long term effects for you. I pluck hairs out of my face all the time. it tends to give me pimples, actually. but nothing more serious.
Reply:if you've been doing it for 7 yrs now and haven't had any problems then you should be ok...

Why must people be so mean to young writers?

For those of you who answered my other question about my english teacher who told me a 13 year- old could never write, here is what happened today! Okay, I showed my english teacher a bit of my upcoming novel and she read it. She told me it was the worst, most ameture piece of writing she's ever seen! I understand you are probebly thinking she's right but Persphone_Hellcatt will tell you what she thinks of it [she is helping me out with my novel]. I understand that I am young and my writting will improve to where I won't even recognize it but Persphone_Hellcatt is a PROFESSIONAL writer and she says I am improving!

Now BEFORE you tell me that I'll need a thicker skin to deal with editors and other people, let me tell you that I have learned to deal with stuff like that.

Instead of losing my cool and being unproffesional, I took my notebook back and walked back to my seat. Editors will tell me MUCH worse.

She claims to write well but- no! Did I do the right thing?

Why must people be so mean to young writers?
Sounds to me like your teacher's totally burned out. That's a terrible reaction to a student's efforts, good or bad.

She's human. Please forgive her harshness, hold your head high, and think of this day when you're three times your present age--and vow never to be as insensitive no matter what's going on in your private life.

Meanwhile, yes, returning to your seat without comment was the right reaction. Now you know not to share your writing with that particular teacher again.

BTW, if you've had other teachers who are more the encouraging supportive type, you can ask if they'd like to see it. You don't have to currently be in a teacher's class to get feedback.
Reply:Hey! It's CayleeJo :)

I HAVE read some of your guys's books, and they're great. I think your teacher is jealous :) Critiquing is one thing, but criticizing is another.

-CayleeJo
Reply:I think that ppl who think young writers can't right r the worst! I write stories too, and it is so frustrating when ur like, "do u wanna read my story?" and they're like, "no it's probably not any good". Yes u did the rite thing, and I admire u. I would have totally exploded! I am with u 100%! (Mean teachers r the worst too, ugh I just really don't like 1 of mine.....=( )
Reply:I've never read your stories before but I dislike the way your teacher said about your writing. She probably thinks you're so unexperienced in this writing industry. Well, tell her to write her own story and see what the class would say. Hey, you're only 13 years old! What can she expect? Have fun writing!
Reply:It takes a lot of talent to be supportive to a young writer and to give helpful criticism rather than slamming the kid. Sounds like your teacher just doesn't have the magic touch. Read the book, "Bird by Bird" by Anne Lamott. She can help you become a better writer, deal with difficult critics, and enjoy the writing process more and more as you go.
Reply:Wow. First of all, if your English teacher said that to you, she really should be fired. I mean that sincerely. I think you should bring that incident to the attention of your parents and the administration of the school.

Secondly, one thing you may be hitting hard against is sexism. I'm not sure that's what's going on, but you may be seeing prejudice against the notion that a young girl can engage in independent, intellectual and creative activities.

It is a very prevalent and very destructive attitude. I experienced it in high school, and I've seen that attitude unleashed even today.

You are strong. Stay strong, keep writing, and read constantly, so that you learn more and more about language.
Reply:I am a teacher. Your teacher has acted in a veyr unprofessional way. You might want to talk to her department head. And you handled it correctly. Just don't show her anything else.
Reply:What a teacher. Heh. But seriously, don't let her judgement affect you too much. From what you said, you have a load of other good opinions on your work, and that's awesome.

On doing the right thing? Good job. If that had been me, I would have blown up in her face. Just continue to keep your cool, and most importantly, keep writing! Someday when you're a published author, you can wave your novel in your old teacher's face and say, "Who's the writer now?"
Reply:I am a teacher and if your English teacher really said that your writing is the worst that she has ever read she is CRAZY!!! This woman shouldn't even be a teacher. Teachers are supposed to TEACH you. She seems like the old school type of teacher that assumes that the student should know everything after she explains the directions once. If the student doesn't get it....too bad. Well, that is not what teachers do!!! Teachers are supposed to give you comments on your writing and give you suggestions on how to improve your writing.

Has she ever stood in front of the class and modeled how she writes so the class can understand what she wants??

Of course not! Any teacher that tells a student that their writing is terrible would never model ways to write a paper. I guess she expects you to read her mind!

Where I teach, a teacher couldn't get away with saying something like that!! If the principal found out she would be reprimanded!

It sounds like your teacher is an old fart that needs to retire.

Keep believing in yourself and your writing. It sounds like you really care about your work, which is really rare for a 13 year-old. I would love for you to be in my class...I will pray for you

;-%26gt;
Reply:I'm a writer and I'm your age too and I ask the same question all the time. But you know what? I don't let it get to me. You're teacher sounds like she has problems. Use what she said to motivate you even though it was negative and I don't mean stop writing because she made it sound like you can't amount to anything. I'm saying, push yourself further and PROVE HER WRONG. In the long run, you'll be the one laughing at her. Keep your head up and keep writing!!
Reply:That teacher was very unprofessional and shouldn't have said what she did. However, at 13 you're just starting out and likely won't have anything publishable for a very long time. In a few years, you'll probably look back on what you're writing now and cringe -- and that's okay, because those shaky first attempts are what you'll build upon to become a good writer in the future.
Reply:Some people don't have any tact. You're going to encounter others who tell you that your writing is terrible and whatever--just thank them for their opinion (if you can move your lips without saying something back) and walk away. Some wouldn't know decent writing if it bit them. I was 18 before I got real constructive criticism with my writing and those well meaning writers did more harm than good initially, but without their words I wouldn't have improved--eventually.
