I have blothy skin and acne scars. Will professional microdermabrasion really make a difference?

I have been getting facials because I am pregnant and my skin is flaring up. The estetician mentioned microdermabrasion and a lightening cream and other treatments after the baby is born. I am really excited because I have been struggling with acne scaring and acne since I was young. Will all this really work? Has anyone been really sucessful with these procedures? I have the money to do it I just cant believe that this will help after I have tried everything!

I had micro and yes it did help, alot, I will never have Christie brinkly skin but the scars are sooooooooo much better, really, it worked for me...good luck with that and your baby...
Reply:I only know that a good friend of mine had it done and she was so impressed! I almost did not recognize her! I think you would be very happy!
Reply:I would speak to a dermatologist before you do anything! Some esteticians are not trained very well with higher potency chemicals and can burn you. But if its for very minor acne and a little bit of scarring (like red spots) then the lighter treatment MAY help. But definitely talk to a dermatologist. Also you may want to look into a glycolic peel for minor scarring - or if you have deep scarring you may need a laser treatment (or course that last one is really pricy)
Reply:Yes microderm will help. It takes some time and usually a few treatments. Try to be patient..because it will work. I saw a friend go through this and it really worked. I mean he had to be bandaged for a night or two and then had to go though the same treatment again..but the differences were remarkable. Hang in there.. it is definitively worth it. he had acne from whatever reasons and he was tired of it, so he went through this treatment and I saw immediate results. Hang in there..it ls worth it.
