How can a young person overcome racism among family members?

I grew up in a home in which I was taugh to hate black people. I would always question "why?" Why should I hate them? But I was never given any other answer other than "because they are black". I grew up hearing the rediculous "N" word that I now hate. But I'm not the only one who was raised this way. I see it today among alot of young people. Their parents teaching this type of hatred! I now have alot of black friends. Most of them are Christians and people that I knew from school. How can a young person have a healthy outlook on life when they are taught to hate? You would think that this would be a thing of the past! But I see it all the time! I have actually taken up for black people who where insulted for the color of their skin. I nearly lost my job over it. But I was right! That person did not deserve the treatment they where getting! The young man was a very hard worker trying to make a living and taking care of his family.

How refreshing it is to encounter an individual who has the wisdom to form their own opinion. It is a shame that so many people thrive on hatred. What a miserable life it must be to find comfort only in hating for the sake of hatred and projecting one's own misery on someone else because they look a certain way...this stuff is malignant like a cancer...but every now and then a person will rise out of this hell to be a decent compassionate human being...that would be you. As for your question, sounds like you have accomplished this by your beliefs and behavior.
Reply:You are my newest hero. Hey, forgive your parents and just make sure you are better than your parents, who were taught to be that way. Break the cycle.
Reply:Obviously your parents had a few bad run in with Black people in the past. What really can you do? Let your parents feel the way they want to, but it doesnt mean you have to follow there legacy. Go with your own, and let others have there own view.
Reply:End racism by showing how we are all related by blood. We all came from Adam and Eve. Eve is the mother of all. Also a great book on race is One Blood. You can read the book free online. Just use the link below.

Genesis 3:20 And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.
Reply:This doesn't sound like a question to me, It sounds like a fairy tale. This whole thing wouldn't happen to just be made up, Eh?
Reply:You really can't change people with closed minds. Too bad they have never gotten to know how fine most Black people are. I'm White. I attended a party in Watts Calif a long time back, when they were known for rioting. A party with about 35 people. I was the only White there, everyone else Black. I was treated well until I asked a few of the wives to dance. I got some hard looks but asked the husbands for permission. Every one gave the okay. They're just like anyone else except they make better fried chicken and spaghetti. Seriously, give some Black food a try. People hate others because they have never taken the time to know them.
Reply:don't listen to that stupid prick Cindy K, she just probably got beat up alot, and is very very intolerant, just b your self , you can't change anybody, no matter how stupid they sound

check out my question. if it sounds racist in anyway, then email me and i will delete it,
