What are the types of fish that eat skin?

Because I saw it on this show where the lady uses the fish to make her feet more young by letting them eat at the dead skin. Do you think it's safe?

Um please ignore some of the unnecessary comments made by some of the previous posters. What you're talking about is true. The fish don't necessarily eat your skin. People who tend to use it have psoriasis. This is a continuous build up of dead skin, which can lead to scabs. (thus why they use the fish). And by the way, it was first done in Kangal, Turkey (not some African or east Asian country. (That is where the fish is found) However, it is also now being done in Japan.

The fish you are talking about is called a Doctor fish (Garra rufa obtusa). It's in the same family as minnows.

Reply:Are you sure you weren't half asleep or smoking something when you think you saw this? And, even if you really did see this, I would bet anything that this was some old asian or african or other country peasant who still believed in old world myths and superstitions and still believes that dragon's eyes cure a witch's curse. Even if there were a fish that really did this, their work would be uneven. Just use a good exfoliator. An exfoliator would work all over much more evenly and, let's face it, less wierdly and scarily!
Reply:do you mean leeches or

doctor fish

they are both used for medical reasons
