Tail problems in young cornsnake....what do i do??

My corn snake is young, i have had him for about 2 months (he is 16 inches long). he shed shortly after i bought him, but it wasn't a whole skin. i had to give him a warm bath to help him shed several remaining pieces. at that time i checked to make sure that there was no skin on the tip of his tail. because i herd that if the skin stays there his tail could die. Then only a few days ago i came home and he had shed one clean entire piece of skin. (he showed no signs of shedding before hand). then a day later i was holding him and i noticed that his tail looks a little funny. the very tip. (not even a whole inch). its stiff with no pigment. and there is a little blood. what should i do?

Try soaking him in luke warm water and make sure that he has indeed shedded his skin on his tail the last time he shed. If there is blood and no pigment, this sounds as though there was some skin left, which caused loss of circulation in the tail and will cause the tail to literally die. You should have him examined by a vet who specializes in herps just to be safe.
Reply:hmm im not too sure but when i first bought my snake, my dad accidentally ran over his tail with a wheely chair. his tail was a bit awkward for a few sheds and he didnt shed any skin of his tail but he has recovered quite well and he now sheds skin from the tail again.

so i think that maybe your snakes tail has been injured by something, maybe just take your snake to a vet so they can check if any bones are broken.
