Sagging skin after weight loss? what factors affect it..........?

what factors affect how saggy your skin is after weight loss? does age have to do with it? like if a person is pretty young, in their 20s or so but have been practically overweight most of their life, does the skin cells lose memory therefore losing elasticity and the skin is not able to bounce back?

thanks to anyone to answers. : )

Sagging skin after weight loss? what factors affect it..........?
There are a few factors that affect one's skin condition after losing weight:

1) age

2) amount of weight lost

3) how long you've been overweight

The younger you are, the much higher your chances of your skin retaining its elasticity are; if you lose weight in your 20s, it's very likely your skin will firm up again over time. However, if you have (or have lost) more than 100 lbs to lose, there's a very good chance you will have some loose skin - especially if you are older. I myself lost 60 lbs last year, and since I am young (19 yrs), my skin was quite firm afterwards.

Best of luck
Reply:Yes, sagging skin has a lot to do with your age. Someone young has more elasticity and it should bounce back quicker. I suggest working out to help get the skin to tighten back up. Congrats on the weight loss, and good luck!
Reply:As far as I know, if you lose weight gradually, your skin shouldn't sag like it would if you lost it all at one time. You should be fine. Especially if you work out and gain muscle too. Good luck
Reply:my skin bounced back everywhere but my stomach, I was only 89 pound when i got pregnant and gained 100 pounds with each of my children (I'm only 5 foot tall) so no matter what My skin sags there even though I lost weight slowly and am back down to 105.
